Campaign Focus
Opel's Vision
Constitutional Foundation
The Sheriff is not just responsible for administration of the office but stands as a bulwark between the tides of political upheaval and the rights guaranteed to all in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
This office bears greater significance than a few endorsements and casual conversations.
It deserves the respect of a grounded, constitutionally aligned person to guarantee the citizens of Allegany County that "We the People" means "All of Us, No Exceptions."
Community Engagement
Being Neighbors Means Something
Many of us long for days gone by when it was safe to let your kids play outside all day.
The good old days when neighbors weren't strangers.
The Sheriff has a unique opportunity, and as Andrew believes, a responsibility, to work towards renewing the sense of true security and safety in every neighborhood across Allegany County.
Beyond Law Enforcement
Buzzwords Don't Work Anymore
Nationally, the landscape of law enforcement is tense, uncertain, and rapidly evolving.
Allegany County has been fortunate to have had highly motivated and professional law enforcement officers in its service, but the next generation depends on purpose-driven policy, reduced back-door politicking, and enhanced training and recruitment methods.
